Today marked the beginning of a new adventure as we headed to Júcaro Port, where we would embark on the Avalon III for our long-awaited dive trip.
Saying goodbye to Havana was bittersweet. The city had left us with countless cherished memories. While we were excited for what lay ahead, a part of us lingered in the vibrant streets we’d come to love.

The bus to Júcaro Port conveniently departed from a stop just around the corner from our hotel. The journey took approximately seven hours, with a few brief stops along the way.

The ride itself was a feast for the eyes. From the window, we marveled at the passing countryside—cows grazing right by the roadside, small shops selling garlic and onions, and cafés and restaurants serving the local community. We glimpsed a cowboy riding by and horse-drawn carriages carrying people down rustic roads. It felt like a moving theater, each scene offering a glimpse into rural Cuban life. At one point, we even spotted a steam train chugging along, a delightful surprise that added a touch of nostalgia to the journey.

Upon arrival at Júcaro Port, we checked into our room and enjoyed a late lunch. The day had been long but full of charm, and we were eager to begin the next chapter of our Cuban adventure aboard the Avalon III.
