We woke up peacefully this morning, greeted by the beautiful sunshine illuminating the huge veranda extending into Aperuy's expansive garden. The tranquil scene was breathtaking, with the fresh morning air washing away all the tiredness from our trekking adventure.
The sun filled the entire living room, where we found a cat sunbathing, adding to the serene atmosphere. Ayumi-san was already up and had prepared a delightful breakfast for us. We enjoyed our meal on the veranda, basking in the soft morning sunlight. The breakfast was not only delicious but also healthy, a perfect start to our day.
After breakfast, Ayumi-san gave us a tour of the Aperuy village. We explored their gardens, which were lush with vegetables, fruits, and even a rice field, all managed by the dedicated Aperuy team. They also had chickens, contributing to a self-sustaining lifestyle. Their commitment to living sustainably and harmoniously with nature was truly inspiring, and we admired their way of life.
Our stay in Yakushima has come to an end. Though short, it was filled with rich experiences and beautiful memories. Now, we head back to the mainland, carrying with us the peacefulness and inspiration from this unique island.
