Today dawned with the promise of a beautiful day, and we eagerly set out to immerse ourselves in the authentic way of life of the Solomon people by visiting Karomolun village.

Upon our arrival, we were greeted with warm hospitality and each received a fresh-flower necklace lovingly crafted by local girls that very morning. Led by the village chief, we embarked on a guided tour of the village, gaining insights into the daily routines and traditions of its inhabitants.

Throughout the village, we encountered key elements of communal living, including a church for spiritual gatherings, an open-air school for education, and a rainwater tank used for collecting drinking water. The absence of individual water supplies and electricity may seem inconvenient by modern standards, yet the villagers exuded contentment and a sense of harmony with their surroundings.

As we mingled with the locals, we were treated to traditional music and dances that showcased the vibrant cultural heritage of the Solomon Islands. The rhythmic beats of bamboo and wooden instruments, accompanied by the clacking of flippers, created a mesmerizing soundtrack that echoed through the village.
