The Last Night on Board - Bilikiki's Famous 'Popcorn Passage' and ”Bubbly Paparazzi”

In the afternoon, we embarked on a small passage between islands to experience Bilikiki’s famous tradition: the 'Popcorn Passage' . The crew prepared a massive amount of popcorn, and each passenger readied plastic bags to throw to the villagers' canoes.

The villagers know this event well! As we started to cruise through the passage, they came one by one, quickly gathering in numerous canoes.

Children, women, and families awaited eagerly. We tossed the popcorn bags into their canoes, and they tried to catch them.

However, with the ship moving, currents flowing, and the wind blowing, it wasn't always easy to hit the mark. Many bags dropped into the sea, and villagers collected them, sometimes kids even jumped into the water to retrieve them.

It was quite a fun event.
