Continuing our exploration of Old Havana, we wandered through its charming streets, passing iconic landmarks. The magnificent Havana Cathedral stood tall, its Baroque façade radiating centuries of history. Nearby, the vibrant energy of the plazas captivated us, while the sight of a lively school brought a sense of everyday life to the historic setting. Each corner revealed something unique—moments of beauty, culture, and history intertwined.

It happened to be the period of the biennial art event, adding an extra layer of cultural richness to our journey. One outdoor installation that caught our attention was Daniel Hourdé’s The Tree of a Thousand Voices, a striking sculpture that seemed to speak to the soul of Havana itself.

Among other highlights, we stepped into the café at Hotel Ambos Mundos, where Hemingway himself once frequented. The elegant, historic atmosphere offered a sense of stepping back in time, connecting us to the literary great who so loved this city.

For lunch, we discovered 5 Sentidos, a culinary gem that surprised and delighted us. Known for blending traditional Cuban flavors with subtle Asian influences, this restaurant turned out to be a highlight of the day. Despite initial doubts about fusion cuisine, the dishes were exquisite—each bite a harmonious balance of flavors, textures, and creativity.

As we dined, the warm ambiance and friendly conversations elevated the experience even further. It wasn’t just a meal; it was a moment to savor, capturing the magic of Old Havana in both flavor and spirit.
