Our journey was supposed to finish at Senpiro-no-Taki due to time constraints this afternoon. However, our driver insisted on taking us to another spot, Ohko-no-Taki, one of Japan's 100 Best Waterfalls, despite the quickly approaching night.

Ohko-no-taki boasts the largest volume of water in Yakushima Island, creating a majestic spectacle and the sight of water cascading down the 88-meter cliff with a mighty splash is truly dynamic. We were overwhelmed by the sheer power and beauty of the waterfall.

Fortunately, we could walk right to the bottom of the waterfall, an opportunity not always available, according to our driver. We were thrilled that he insisted on this detour.

As darkness began to fall, we were just in time to experience such natural beauty. It was really time to head to our lodge.

On the way, the driver kindly made another extra stop for us to see a grand banyan tree. Soon, the moon appeared, casting a serene glow on our journey.
