The moment our plane touched down in Havana, a wave of excitement mixed with relief washed over us. The long flight from Paris had been surprisingly comfortable, and the journey felt like a gentle prelude to the adventure awaiting us.

Stepping off the plane, we were greeted by the warm professionalism of the VIP Airport Service. From the first handshake, they guided us seamlessly through the arrival process. My earlier worries about immigration quickly began to fade.
Before the trip, I’d been slightly anxious. The Cuban entry requirements—visa, proof of “Cuba-qualified” health insurance, and other documents—had seemed daunting, especially after a small hiccup with the e-visa process. Would everything be in order when we arrived?
As it turned out, my concerns were unfounded. The immigration process was smooth and efficient, and before we knew it, we were settling into the calm oasis of the VIP lounge. Here, with a cold beer in hand, we could finally exhale. Our luggage was collected for us, and shortly after, we were escorted to a waiting taxi.

By the time we arrived at our hotel, exhaustion from the long journey had caught up with us. Too tired to even think about dinner, we opted to take it easy, saving our energy for the adventures that awaited us the next morning.
With that, our Cuban journey had officially begun.
