The morning began slowly, with a relaxed and late breakfast. Then, we visited White Lake, a spot recommended by our hotel the day before — just a short drive away.

We didn’t expect much, but when we arrived… wow!

Crystal-clear turquoise waters surrounded by soft white sand and pale-colored rocks created a stunning scene that looked more like a lake than part of the sea.

Delighted, we took a little walk to soak it all in. What a beautiful surprise.

We then headed to Hora Sfakion, taking our time and enjoying the journey along the way... Ideally, we would have taken a ferry along the coast, but the schedule didn’t align with our plans. So instead, we retraced the road we had taken the day before — not a bad thing, since the scenery was just as breathtaking in reverse.

This region, we discovered, is famous for honey.

Yesterday, we saw many roadside stands, and today we noticed that honey was used in all sorts of dishes, desserts, and even raki with honey!

We decided to stop at one local stand run by a family. The gentleman there was incredibly kind and generous, offering us tastes of various types of honey as well as pure olive oil and olive oils infused with different herbs.

They were absolutely delicious — each herb's flavor was distinct and bold. I don’t usually buy flavored oils, but these were too good to resist. Naturally, we left with a few bottles of honey and olive oil in our hands — and big smiles on our faces.

Back on the road, we stopped for a light lunch at a terrace overlooking the sea.

I had Boureki, a traditional Greek dish made of layers of potato, zucchini, and cheese, all baked in a generous amount of olive oil.

My husband went with gyros. Simple and satisfying — just perfect for the moment.

Feeling content, we drove on to Hora Sfakion.

Our hotel, The Authentic Village Boutique Hotel, was charming and perfectly located — just steps from the beach and restaurant-lined streets.

After checking in, we headed straight for the beach and enjoyed a few relaxing beers in the sun. Later, we took a short walk along the coast before dinner.

As for dinner — to be honest, none of the restaurants really stood out. They were all lined up along the beach and quite touristy, so we just chose one.

I ordered lamb with yogurt sauce, and my husband had grilled sea bass. They were both simple and tasty — nothing special, but satisfying.

Oh, and the garlic toast was surprisingly excellent!

From our table, we had a beautiful view of the sunset — the sky painted in deep orange and pink. And of course, we ended the evening with a glass of raki, once again!
