Today was cloudy again,
though a little brighter than yesterday ☁️
Still, no excuses
– I just had to visit Plitvice Lakes National Park.
It might be the only chance,
even if it meant a detour, colder weather, and uncertain skies.
The park is a UNESCO World Heritage site,
famous for its 16 lakes connected by waterfalls,
shimmering in turquoise and emerald tones.

We entered around 11 a.m.
The sky was still grey,
and at first the lakes didn’t show their colors.
Where was that famous turquoise blue?
We took the shuttle bus up to the top and walked down.
About halfway,
the sun finally peeked out
– only now and then, and often not when I needed it most 😅
But still,
I managed to capture some of the beauty of this magical place.

Even a few shots with an artistic touch 💗

Hope they convey a little of the atmosphere 🙏

Dinner tonight was delicious: smoked trout, one of the local specialties,
rich with flavor yet still delicate 🐟✨

My husband enjoyed beef fillet with forest mushroom sauce
– also excellent! 😋
A perfect way to end a very special day.
