Going Where the Road Takes Me – Day 13

A bright, sunny morning in Podaca ☀️🌊🙌

Clear blue sky, sparkling sea

— what a perfect change after yesterday’s wind and clouds.

We returned to the beautiful little beach we found yesterday

and spent a slow morning there,

just sitting on a bench,

watching the gentle ripples of the Adriatic 🩵

After that, we headed north toward Split.

We stopped at a few small coastal towns along the way,

but everything was still closed 🥲

Split itself was huge

— the port full of massive cruise ships,

and the promenade packed with tourists.

Honestly…

quite disappointing 😨

So we had our “arrival ritual” 🍻,

and then enjoyed a surprisingly good lunch

(which saved the day 😅),

After that, we decided to keep driving north

instead of staying another night by the sea.

Now we’re in Čatrnja,

a small village just north of Plitvice Lakes National Park,

staying at a cozy hotel for the night.

We arrived just as the sun had set

— too late for the colors,

but still, a peaceful end to the day 🌅
