Going Where the Road Takes Me – Day 14

A grey, rainy morning ☔️

— not exactly the best start to the day.

With both sea and mountains out of the question, we decided it was time to start the journey home.

We drove across Croatia, through Slovenia, and by evening we were already in Austria 🇦🇹

Tonight we’re staying at a simple countryside inn, not far off the route home.

The place is modest, but the view from our room is just beautiful — and they serve dinner too! 🩷

It turns out the game season started just two days ago,

so the menu was full of wild dishes.

I had venison ragout,

and my husband went for a mixed game platter — both hearty and delicious. 😋

Truly, simple is best 🥰
