Yakushima Lighthouse: A Historic Beacon

After savoring the flavors of Yakushima, our next destination was the Yakushima Lighthouse, situated at Cape Nagata, the westernmost tip of the island.

The lighthouse, with its storied history, first illuminated the night sky on January 10, 1899. Standing as a beacon of maritime navigation for over a century, it has witnessed countless tales of the sea.

Unfortunately, our visit coincided with a cloudy day, obscuring the potentially stunning views. Despite this, the lighthouse itself, with its rich history and serene surroundings, was a captivating sight.
