After breakfast, we headed back to Yufuin to board the famous 'Yufuin no Mori' train.

Our final destination for the day was Fukuoka, making this a bit of a detour, but I was determined to experience this renowned train journey. Reservations for the train can only be made one month in advance at 10 AM Japan time, which is 2 AM in Europe. Initially, I tried to reserve tickets for the journey from Beppu to Yufuin, but by the time I checked in the morning, all seats were already booked.
Undeterred, I adjusted our route to ensure we could still ride the 'Yufuin no Mori' train. I managed to secure seats by staying awake until 2 AM to book them.

We ordered the 'Yufuin no Mori' Bento as well, and soon our journey began.

The ride was pleasant, though we found the scenery from the windows to be less spectacular than we had expected. Nevertheless, it was a nice and relaxing journey to Fukuoka.
